Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, despite being located separately from the other bookings, were clean and comfortable. However, the lack of mobile signal was a significant drawback in terms of value for money.
The hotel has everything you could ever need with the style of a bygone era, offering a small and quiet room. However, the basic bathroom with a low-pressure shower and tiny washing sink might not be suitable for everyone. The location, right off the A835 from Inverness to Ullapool, is convenient for touring the Highlands, but some aspects may feel outdated for the price paid.
The hotel reminded us of the Paradores we'd stayed at in Spain, although it was very noisy due to the close proximity to the ballroom. The rooms were small and quiet, with basic bathroom amenities, low-pressure showers, and tiny washing sinks, but the showers in the annexe rooms were fairly feeble. Service was faultless, with lovely surrounding gardens, and the staff were really lovely people, very helpful, with a lovely lounge to sit in. The location was convenient, right off the A835 from Inverness to Ullapool, but was completely taken over by a coach party playing bingo. Dining was edible but cold, with breakfast items like one sausage, one tomato, one piece of bacon, along with beans and egg, which was too late for hillwalkers. Facilities included grilled dishes.
The hotel provided a comfortable stay with some minor dated aspects. The rooms were small and quiet, yet having 2 bedrooms was perfect for our group. The service was exceptional, going out of their way to accommodate us even during busy times. While the location was convenient for travelers, the ambiance felt a bit outdated for the price. Dining options were average, with a satisfactory breakfast. Overall, a decent value for a short stay.
The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was pleasant and friendly, offering great value for the amount paid. However, the dining experience had some shortcomings in terms of timing and temperature of the food served. The location was convenient to explore the surrounding district, complemented by helpful and friendly staff. The facilities provided at the hotel were described as being of high quality.
